Light Issues With Selena Statue
While The Selena Statue is now shining a little brighter during the day thanks to restoration efforts, at night it's a different story. About half the LED lights that surround the statue are out. The City says it's an electrical issue that's not part of the restoration project.

Selena Hologram Not Possible
Selena's father, Abraham Quintanilla Jr., said creating a hologram was more difficult than they expected. "The prices are ridiculous, and there's a lot of equipment required ... only to show one song through hologram," he said.
The family also doesn't have the appropriate pictures necessary to create the hologram. The full-bodied pictures are too far away or just close-ups of her face. This is something the family discovered in 2013 when they met with AV Concepts, a company that specializes in holograms based in San Diego. They felt disappointed.
"After the meeting, when we returned to the bus, we all agreed that it wasn't enough for the fans," said A.B. "She looked like a ghost. The image was not well defined."

Demi Lovato mentions Selena in Huffington Post online article.
While the star may be a role model to many today, she had her own influences growing up. Lovato was only 2 when Selena Quintanilla,
the singer known as "the Queen of Tejano music," was murdered in 1995, but that didn't stop Lovato from cherishing the Tex-Mex
artist she would eventually consider an inspiration.

Edward James Olmos Speaks about Selena
Edward James Olmos on Selena by Variety Latino:
"When people ask me what has been the most difficult film, I always tell them "Selena" and they always look at me like I'm from another planet. I love Selena, but it was hard to be on set and see Selena's father crying in the corner, destroyed. It was terrible. Sometimes I did not want to do the film. It's a beautiful story but it was very sad. We began production 15 months after Selena died.
People do not know the psychological effect it had on the cast."

Selena in Latina.com
Do you know the true meaning behind Selena's "No Me Queda Mas"?
Did you know this song was written about Selena’s sister Suzette? Selena’s lead keyboardist Ricky Vela loved Suzette,
but when she married someone else, he wrote his feelings down in a letter.
He kept his letter and his feelings to himself until A.B. Quintanilla, Selena’s brother and producer, was running out of songs for the upcoming album.
At the top of the US Hot Latin Tracks charts for seven weeks straight, that was quite the way to make a confession.

Selena 1993 Concert
San Antonio Express-News online article: By Hector Saldana
Abraham Quintanilla, father of slain Tejano star Selena, is optimistic about a pending deal with Universal Music Group to release a DVD
of a never-seen Selena concert from 1993. Hours of footage, tied up because of legal battles, have been digitized, with audio mixed in surround sound.
“It's the most personal concert footage ever of Selena,” said Quintanilla about the concert at Corpus Christi Coliseum. “It's more intimate.”
