Selena performed this song live to the beat of "Bidi, Bidi, Bom, Bom" on February 7, 1993 in the Memorial Coliseum in Corpus Christi, TX. which was released as "Selena Live" and won Selena a Grammy.
Although this version has not yet been released, hopefully the Quintanilla family releases the song as well as "Selena Live" concert on dvd.
Here is the closest I could come to the lyrics.

(known to some as "One Wish" or "Itty Bitty Bubbles")

(verse:)
Bidi Bidi Ba-ha
Bidi Bidi Ba-ha
Bidi Bidi Bidi Bidi Bidi Bidi Ba-ha
Bidi Bidi Bidi Bidi Bidi Bidi Ba-ha

(repeat verse)

Alright, Oh if I had just one wish
If I had one wish
I would like to be a fish
and I'll swim swim swim
Oh under the sea I'd be so free
and I'll say, I'll say
I'd swim swim swim,
under the sea I'd be so free,
I'll say, I'll say

(repeat verse-2x's)

Ritmo

Selena would practice and warm up her vocal cords and do soundchecks by making different sounds which turned into a song they called "one wish" or "itty bitty bubbles".

Selena re-wrote the song into a Spanish tune along side band member of "Los Dinos"; Pete Astudillo, and named it "Bidi Bidi Bom Bom" which was released in her 1994 Grammy nominated album "Amor Prohibido".

  • "Selena Live" won the Grammy for Best Mexican-American Album category at the 36th Annual Grammy Awards on March 1, 1994 in New York City.
  • Selena was the only female in the category.
  • Selena beat Vicente Fernandez, Los Tigres Del Norte, Santiago Jimenez Jr. and Little Joe.
  • Selena was also the first Tejano Artist to win a Grammy.

  • According to Texas Monthly, the song was created by accident during one of Quintanilla's sound checks. Her husband and the band's guitarist Chris Perez and her brother A.B. Quintanilla were riffing on different sounds when the Tejano queen joined in with "itty bitty bubbles." One of the backup singers Pete Astudillo remembers the Mexican-American star singing, "If I was a fish, under the sea, I would swim, swim, swim to you," to the beat of her hit song. Astudillo eventually went on to pen the lyrics, changing the focus from water and making it about the heartbeat of a girl in love: "Bidi bidi bom bom."
